| SLIPKNOT's JOEY JORDISON Makes Cover Of MODERN DRUMMER Magazine Check out the in-depth cover story on Joey Jordison (SLIPKNOT, ROB ZOMBIE, MURDERDOLLS) in the latest issue of Modern Drummer magazine. Also in the issue is your chance to enter to win a set of Paiste black alpha cymbals used and signed by Joey. If you don't subscribe to Modern Drummer, then head to your local store on December 5 when this issue hits newsstands everywhere. Once again two members of SLIPKNOT seem to have made contradictory statements about the band's future following the death last May of bassist Paul Gray. Jordison told Billboard.com that he and other members of the group are already recording demos of new material separately, and that he hopes to see them get together in the studio sometime in the first half of 2011. He told The Pulse of Radio that he expects great things out of the next SLIPKNOT record. "I think it's gonna be really, really cool," he said. "I think it's gonna be a really, really great record because, I mean, everyone's being really involved in the process and I think it should be, definitely for me it's gonna be, I think it's gonna be a healing process for all of us." But singer Corey Taylor, who continues to tour with STONE SOUR behind that band's "Audio Secrecy" album, doesn't see a new record in SLIPKNOT's immediate future without Gray. "Do I see us doing shows? Yes. Do I see myself jumping in and making a SLIPKNOT album without him right away? No, I don't," he said. "I can't wrap my head around making an album without him. so I'm not going to right now. Does it mean we'll never make another album? No, it doesn't. Does it mean we're gonna run right in and make something just because? No, I refuse to." Gray was found dead in a hotel room in a Des Moines, Iowa suburb last May at the age of 38 from an overdose of morphine. The members of SLIPKNOT have indicated that when they record and tour again — whenever that is — Gray will not be replaced and the bass parts will be played by other members of the group. Meanwhile, Jordison's side band MURDERDOLLS canceled a tour slated to start on December 3 due to an "unforeseeable family emergency." * Source Byhttp://www.blabbermouth.net | |
